A tribute to the art of printing and our own history
When creating the covers of these notebooks, we used one of our most treasured possessions: original typefaces from Åhnbergs Bokbinderi, a venerable company with roots in Stockholm dating back to 1927 and a history deeply intertwined with Swedish bookbinding craftsmanship.
The letters are printed with a typeface we believe to be Berthold Sorbonne — created as early as 1905. A characterful style from a time when letters were still shaped by hand, and a typography you will hardly find in digital form today.
The art of printing has always been a craft that demanded patience. In earlier times, entire pages were carved out of wooden blocks — a laborious and limiting technique. It wasn't until Gutenberg's breakthrough in the 15th century, with movable metal type that could be reused page after page, that large-scale printing became possible. An innovation that changed the world.
With respect for this history, we now offer a collection of notebooks — one for each letter of the alphabet. They are made in a limited edition, with each cover bearing traces of genuine, living craftsmanship.
